SOCIAL SERVICES.

Community Services implements the priorities of His Excellency the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council. It oversees the areas of social services, which include:

  • Education
  • Water
  • Health
  • Economic empowerment of citizens
  1. EDUCATION

In education, the following key areas are managed:

  • Infrastructure Development: Construction of 1,000 classrooms, which includes the construction of 22 multi-story schools. These schools, for both primary and secondary levels, are being built and are ongoing in Unguja and Pemba.
  • Availability of Books and Furniture
  • Teacher Recruitment
  • Vocational Colleges
  • Digitalization

The management includes ensuring the construction of 1,000 classrooms in Unguja and Pemba, the provision of books and operational tools such as syllabi and seating furniture, and the recruitment of teachers. The construction of these classrooms is in its final stages of completion.

  1. HEALTH SECTOR.
  • Supervision of the construction of 10 district hospitals and one regional hospital. Construction has been completed.
  • Maintenance of health centres and provision of services to citizens through outsourcing.
  • Ensuring services are available on time and of high quality.
  • Guaranteeing the health insurance fund provides timely and quality services.
  • Ensuring services are delivered through digitalization and that medicines are available on time.

  1. EMPOWERNMENT

Economic empowerment of citizens includes:

  • Ensuring loans are available in all areas for people in need, targeting vulnerable groups such as women, youth, and people with special needs.
  • Creating 300,000 jobs in Unguja and Pemba.

  1. WATER
