ZPDB was established to fast-track the implementation of priority projects in a timely manner. The main task of this Institute is to monitor, coordinate, and supervise the implementation of priority areas in Blue Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Social Services. Thus, the ZPDB intends to achieve its vision, mission, objectives, and targets by 2025.

ZPDB aims to realize its vision for transformation and sustainable development by coordinating and accelerating the implementation of the government’s strategic priorities. Its primary focus is to drive priority projects that deliver transformative, sustainable, and measurable outcomes, contributing to Zanzibar’s long-term growth and development.
